There are two kinds of equipment dealer. One stocks belts, blades, spindles and filters for the machines it sold you, and one orders everything and calls you in nine days. We are the first kind, which is the whole reason to buy a mower from a lot instead of a big box.

Bench rate is $85 an hour past the flat items. Diagnostic is $45 and it comes off the bill if we do the work. From late March to the middle of June the turnaround goes to two or three weeks and there is nothing anybody can do about that, so winter is when a tune-up is cheap and fast. Prices here are illustrative for this preview.

Two generations, one highway, and three wrong addresses online.
The lot has been on this stretch of Highway 69 since 1987, first selling farm equipment and eventually adding the nursery because the ground was already here and the customers were already coming out in April.
The single most useful thing a page like this can do for us is settle where we are. Three directory sites list an address in a different town entirely, which means a share of the people looking for us every spring drive twenty minutes the wrong way and give up. We are on Highway 69, north of Excelsior Springs, on the east side, and the sign is white on green.

In April and May we are here until dark on weekdays and open on Saturday until the nursery row is watered. Call ahead in January and February, because on a bad-weather day it is one person in the shop and he might be under a mower.
